Description:

Robin Walker (1953-) is a British contemporary composer. His "Passionate Classicism," as he has been called, is in the tradition of Beethoven, Sibelius, and other European composers, but he also incorporates into his works a celebration of nature in Yorkshire, where he has lived for the past 30 years. The other three works, including "Funeral March," a tribute to his father who died in 2005, are also strongly narrative in nature. Conductor Alexander Walker is not related to the composer, but has actively performed Robin's works around the world.
