Seven of Stereolab's studio albums are being reissued in 2LP editions that faithfully reproduce the original source material! A limited number of these albums will also be available with Japanese language obi! Seven of Stereolab's studio albums are being reissued in new 2LP editions by Duophonic UHF Disks / Warp Records! This release features remastered material that was released in an expanded edition in 2019. In addition, the high quality of the music was cut by Beau Condren (Calyx Mastering) from the original 1/2" tapes and supervised by Tim Gaine. Each album is packaged in a single 5mm wide sleeve and a printed inner sleeve with a protective PVC outer bag. Each album will also be released in a limited quantity with a Japanese wraparound obi! A milestone in 90's alternative music, this album proves the further evolution of a band that has risen to become one of the leading figures in the scene. Emperor Tomato Ketchup" is highly regarded as a masterpiece by Stereolab, a band that shined brightly in the 90's alternative music scene. Paul Tipler, who was the recording engineer on the previous album, produced eight of the songs recorded in London, while the remaining five were recorded in Chicago and mixed and produced by John McEntire, who had been a member of Tortoise and Sea and Cake. John McEntire, who had been a member of Tortoise and Sea and Cake, was commissioned to mix and produce the recordings. The songs from both the London and Chicago recordings are blended together without any sense of discomfort, and the structure of the songs is clearer than before by highlighting the rhythms and melodies. Instead of melting the sound into noise as in previous works, the sound emphasizes the ensemble, and the sound image is clear. And each song has a distinct personality.This album is a memorable masterpiece by the post-punk children that ushered in a new era in the rock scene. Its surrealistic pop sensibility still shines through.
