Description:

Janacek: Opera "The Tale of the Clever Vixen" with the orchestral parts arranged for chamber music by conductor/composer Fabrice Boron. It was produced during the lockdown of the new coronavirus, which prevented the use of large orchestras, and features two violins, one viola, one cello, one double bass, one flute, one oboe (replaced by a cor anglais), one clarinet, one bassoon, one harp, one clarinet, and one bassoon. 1 woodwind instrument, 1 harp, 1 keyboard instrument, and 1 percussion instrument. The arrangement, which is not a mere reduction but rather an advocacy of new sound combinations, makes Janacek's opera more accessible. Boron has arranged the duet from "Schalka" for violin and cello, as well as "12 Lilies for Leoš," a new orchestration of various melodies from Janacek's works. These are tributes to Janacek.
