The young brass ensemble "Saraptya Brass" was formed in 2007 by fellow members of the German National Youth Orchestra. The ensemble has participated in prominent music festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and the Rheingau Music Festival, and is active in concerts throughout Germany, as well as abroad in the United States, Mexico, China, and France. The basic composition consists of 12 members (5 trumpets, 1 horn, 4 trombones, 1 tuba, and 1 percussionist), with the addition of a trombonist who doubles as a euphonium and a percussionist. The album focuses on British works, performing a variety of pieces from Holst's "Moorside Suite" to Holborn's "Fairy Round," a suite from the Renaissance period, the theme from "James Bond," an indispensable British film, and even the Beatles, in order to explore the roots of British music. The band will be joined by trumpet player Delpinghaus, a member of the group. The arrangements by trumpet player Delpinghaus, a member of the ensemble, are a perfect complement to the works.
