The main program, "Beethoven: Mass in C major," from Mariss Jansons' 75th birthday celebration concert held in January 2018. The concert was released as a video product (BELVED08041 - DVD/BELVED08042 - Blu-ray) by belvedere edition in 2017, but this album couples the Mass with the Leonore Overture No. 3, which was performed in 2004. The coupling of the Mass and the Leonore Overture No. 3, performed in 2004, underscores Jansons' long-held passion for Beethoven. Both the Mass and Leonore Overture are masterpieces composed in 1806-1807, during Beethoven's prime years.
