The beautiful melodies blend harmoniously with a soft touch, and one can almost picture her enjoying the performance with a sharp, crisp touch at times. This eighth leader album—released on the M&I label and her own BLUEHOUSE label—is the culmination of her long career and a work of her utmost dedication. As the leader of this project, pianist Yukari Fujita took charge of the entire production process, from song selection to arrangements, and was meticulous in crafting the album. She explains that this stems from her desire to express her true self. She began her career with releases on the M&I label, including recordings made in New York and Los Angeles, and has since been actively releasing leader albums on her own BLUEHOUSE label. Born in Fuchu City, Tokyo, she currently resides in Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture. At BLUEHOUSESTUDIO—a space that serves as both a private studio and a live venue—she is dedicated to promoting the joy of jazz as part of the local music culture. He began with classical piano in his childhood, later becoming an exclusive Yamaha Electone player before transitioning to jazz. He has been exposed to a wide range of musical genres. Andy Wulf (tenor sax, flute) and Hiroyuki Matsushima (trumpet) are renowned top players leading the Japanese jazz scene. Their formidable improvisation evokes the ideal form of jazz. For Fujita, who has realized this dream collaboration with these two, it will surely serve as a source of further energy moving forward.
