Brahms (1833-1897)
Description:
The "Vant Immortal Masterpieces," which should be savored one by one, are perfectly designed and magnificent. The "Lontano", which is the achievement with the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra, is also a must-try! Both the CD and SACD layers have been remastered for the most realistic sound quality ever. The series with the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra, Vandt's strongest and most powerful arm in his arsenal, is about to begin. The first two titles are the four Brahms recordings from 1990 and 1992! This is the sound of the duo's achievement. The orchestra, which perfectly understood Vant's intentions and responded in a wonderful way, is a wonderful masterpiece. The second movement of No. 3 is especially beautiful, and the way the song spreads through the orchestra is a sight to behold. The alternation of the intense, avant-garde and calm parts of the two end movements is a delight to listen to, and the passionate shifts in harmony are fascinating. The last movement, in which all the twists and turns are sublimated into a heavenly sound and disappear, is also outstandingly convincing. In the fourth movement, the hesitant and delicate start of the first movement is brilliant, but Vant has a firm sense of tempo, and the music swells and builds beautifully to a full and satisfying coda. The third movement's strong, tight sound and the fourth movement, which is much fuller than the third movement, are also excellent. The quiet section that begins with a flute solo becomes heated again, and the second half of the Passacaglia, which grows to the point of almost being spectacular at the end, is one word that can be used only to describe its magnificence. The coupling includes a Mozart concerto by Ritter, principal of the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra, and a rare recording of Ligeti's "Lontano".Mozart sounds dashing and graceful, like a temporary refreshment. And in the Ligeti, Vant's uncompromising and daring approach to contemporary music is evident in his thorough reading of the score. While respecting the songs at the core of the music, Vant's rigorously searching approach to the music is exactly the same as in the Brahms performance, and conversely, you will be reminded of the avant-garde nature of Brahms's music. The commentary includes a newly written manuscript by conductor Kenjiro Sakairi. King International
