New release of a classic live performance by Jackson Browne, recorded with a band at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1982 for FM broadcast! Jackson Browne's first (and to date, only) No. 1 album in the U.S., "Hold Out," was released in 1980, and the single "Somebody's Baby," which became the theme song for the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," was released in '82. Somebody's Baby" (1982), the theme song for the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," reached No. 7, the highest chart action in Jackson's history. Also, although Jackson did not play many shows in 1982, he played mainly at festivals such as "Torhout" in Belgium, "Glastonbury" in the UK, and "Nuclear Disarmament Rally" in New York City, which was an anti-nuclear event. It could be said that this was a year in which the band aimed to expand its fan base.The band sound that has been pursued since 1978's "Running On Empty" remains the same with The Section and other members (with minor changes, such as Bob Glaub on bass), and is at its best during this period, tight yet spare. The introspective aspect of Jackson's music is one of its charms in terms of lyrics, and the performance here is very well-balanced in terms of conveying the words well, and is a perfect example of the band sound in Jackson Browne. The members of The Section, Danny Coachmer (g), Craig Dargi (key), and Russ Kankel (ds), are joined by Rick Vito (g), Bob Glaub (b), and Doug Haywood (key). This is a masterpiece of a show that fans should not miss!
