The French virtuoso Eric Aubier, who is the younger brother of the legendary trumpet player Maurice André and heir to his school of trumpet, plays a number of trumpet concertos backed by the Paris Garde-Republiquaine, one of the world's leading wind ensembles. The program includes the famous Doxitzel version of "Rhapsody in Blue," but the most important thing about this recording is that it includes many rare "brass band accompaniment" versions! The trumpet concerto by Arutyunyan is also in a brass band version, and the brass band version of the trumpet concerto by Tomazy is the world's first recording! Please enjoy Aubier's convincing performance of the "brass band accompaniment version," which is different from the "piano accompaniment version" and "orchestral accompaniment version" that you often hear.
