Blood Incantation's third album, "Absolute Elsewhere," was released in 2011 by Paul Riedl and Isaac Faulk, who formed the band in Denver, Colorado, USA. Blood Incantation. Following a demo and an EP, their first album Starspawn was released in 2016, and their second, Hidden History of the Human Race, was born in 2019, when Kerrang Magazine ranked the band #25 in "The Best American Metal Bands of the Last Decade". The band has quickly become a force to be reckoned with. And they continue their journey of musical exploration to become one-of-a-kind: in 2022, the band surprisingly released "Timewave Zero," an album that strayed far from death metal and metal and was thoroughly ambient. And their latest album, "Absolute Elsewhere", to be released in October 2024, will inevitably surprise and bewilder even more.This album is composed of two parts, "The Stargate" and "The Message," and was inspired by the 70's progressive rock band ABSOLUTE ELSEWHERE, known for its drummer Bill Bruford, who was a member of the three major progressive rock groups (YES, KING CRIMSON, and GENESIS). The name ABSOLUTE ELSEWHERE is boldly used as the title of the album. The sound is a chaotic mix of a 90's death metal band from the future playing a 70's progressive album. The album was recorded at the legendary Hanza Studio in Berlin, Germany, which has been influenced by musicians such as U2, DAVID BOWIE, and IGGY POP, as well as key figures in the ambient world such as TANGERINE DREAM, ELOY, and BRIAN ENO. The album was produced by Arthur Rizk (POWER TRIP, KREATOR), a producer who was necessary to complete the album. Berlin and Hanza Studio were definitely part of the underlying atmosphere of the album.Paul Riedl writes, "The album plays like the soundtrack to a movie dealing with the battle of consciousness, the battle against the consciousness of humanity, love, tolerance, peace, and all that blossoms from the rise and expansion of awareness. It is essentially psychedelic, but also mystical. It is progressive, abstract, and beautiful, but it is also very aggressive, and it breathes human playfulness. It is also a very personal album that allows our ambitions to shine through. It shows more of our individuality than our previous work. Wrapped in striking artwork by science fiction and fantasy artist Steve R. Dodd, the album clearly reveals the band's message and spirituality. Abandoning the concept of death metal, Blood Incantation's "Absolute Elsewhere" will give us a 44-minute experience of the unknown.
