50th anniversary reissue of Bruce Springsteen's brilliant debut album "Greetings from Asbury Park" on SACD hybrid disc by Mobil Fidelity. Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J." was released in the U.S. in 1973. Although it was not Springsteen's intention, he and the E Street Band, along with the media calling him "the second coming of Bob Dylan," produced a series of highly original works filled with fresh lyrics and R&R. Although it did not chart when it was first released, "Runaway Without Tomorrow/BORN TO RUN! /BORN TO RUN", it climbed to No. 60 on October 18, 1975. As its title suggests, this debut album has the character of a letter from Bruce's musical homeland. The album spits out real proper nouns like a machine gun, and it goes without saying that the rough performance of the E Street Band lent reality to the words.
