The Rome Trilogy by Pedrotti, who studied with Respighi, is full of passion! This is a set of three albums by Italian conductor Antonio Pedrotti (1901-1975), who studied composition with Respighi at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, and who also conducted the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Pedrotti was appointed conductor of the Trento Philharmonic in 1929, and in 1932 he was appointed professor at the Ricercheo Musicale in Trento. He also served as assistant music director of the Orchestra of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. After the war, he conducted the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and frequently appeared at the "Prague Spring" Festival. In this recording on Sprafon, we can hear Pedrotti's passionate playing. In particular, in Respighi's Roman Trilogy, Pedrotti expresses the music he learned directly from his teacher and gives a passionate performance that is well worth a listen. King International
