Dvorak's "America" and Janacek's "Kreutzer Sonata" are excellent performances, but Bohemian music lovers will be pleased that this CD includes the String Quartet No. 1 by Vladimir Sommer (1921-1997). Vladimir Sommer was a composer born in Horný Žetýn, now near the Czech border with Germany. After studying at the Prague Conservatory, he worked as a composer in the Czech Republic. His String Quartet No. 1 is one of his best-known works. The Lontano Quartet is a young string quartet formed in 2015 by fellow students of the Conservatoire de Paris. Tobu Land System
