An organ destroyed in an air raid has been restored to its original state! Mozart called the organ "the king of instruments," and Mozart himself was a skilled organist who loved to improvise on the organ. However, there are only a few original organ works. This recording includes works arranged by contemporary organ virtuosos. The recording includes the overture to "The Marriage of Figaro" arranged by Jonathan Scott, a famous British organist, and the "Twinkle Twinkle Twinkle Star" Variations arranged by Christoph Schöner, which will be performed on this recording. The organ used in this recording is a Wegscheider organ from St. Jacob's Church in Stralsund, a city that prospered under the Hanseatic League. St. Jacob's church was bombed in 1945, when almost all of the pipes were stolen and further vandalized by people who broke into the church.After overcoming these hardships, the organ was restored between 2017 and 2020, and the sculptures and other decorations were restored to their original state of 1783, giving us the opportunity to record works by Mozart, a contemporary of the 18th century.
