Jim Snydero (as) joins Kurt Rosenwinkel (g) for his first new album in two years! Like his last album, which received 5 stars from Downbeat magazine, this is an all-star album with Orrin Evans (p), Peter Washington (b) and Joe Farnsworth (d) in the rhythm section. He has been a leader on the Criss Cross, RED, Milestone, and other labels, and recently has been consistently releasing new works, especially on the Savant label. The band features popular pianist Orin Evans, who has released albums such as "Captain Black Big Band" on the SmokeSession label, Peter Washington on bass and drums, and Joe Farnsworth, who is currently one of the most consistent and sought-after rhythm sectionals in the world. The band continues to build on the success of their last album, "Live at the Deer Head Inn," which received five stars from Downbeat magazine.And the new addition of Kurt Rosenwinkel adds even more brilliance to this album. Jim Snydero's six originals are a fusion of tradition and trend, swing, Latin, and Eurogroove, but the cohesiveness of the music throughout the album is blinding. The standard "It Might as Well be Spring" and McCoy Tyner's "Search For Peace" enter at key points and give the impression of being tightened up.
