Maria Luiza Jobim
Description:
Maria Luisa Jobim is known as the youngest daughter of Antonio Carlos Jobim, the greatest composer in the history of bossa nova. Since her childhood, she has lived in Rio and New York City. She is a singer, songwriter, and music producer who studied at the Juilliard School and Berklee College of Music, and has had a career in Brazil's musical elite. His first album, "Casa Branca" ('19), is a strong reflection of this orientation. Azul" ('23) is the first album released in four years. Although electronics are still used, the ratio of acoustic instruments has increased.Starting with "O Tempo," in which Maria's voice is united with a swaying groove, "Medo Bom," with its elegant strings, "Papais," with Adriana Calcagnotto as a guest, "Samba do Soho," a popular song composed by Paulo Jobim, Jobim's son, and even a cover of "Nada Sou Sou Sou," with Lisa Ono as a guest. Soho" and even a cover of "Nada Sou Sou" with guest participation by Lisa Ono. The electronic/acoustic mixed ensemble harmonized seamlessly with Maria's voice. The result is what one might call "21st century bossa nova," a modern development of the essence of Brazilian music pioneered by her father. Commentary: Hitoshi Nakahara Bilingual translation of lyrics by Tatsuro Murakami
