Fritz Kreisler (1875-1962) had a recording history of nearly half a century since the early 20th century, and this CD is a reissue of his last SP recordings. During World War I, Kreisler was treated as an "Austrian spy" in the U.S., where he was staying, and was unable to perform. Ironically, however, he was unable to make recordings in 1943 and 1944 due to a strike by the musicians' union. This is why the recordings here are divided into two periods. The recordings here are divided into two parts, one before and one after the other. (Kotaro Yamazaki)
