Curzon and Kna's Beethoven's "Emperor" is back in its best sound quality! 2-track, 38 cm, open-reel tape reissue series■ From the ProducerNeedless to say, this Beethoven's "Emperor" is the only stereo recording of Curzon and Knappertsbusch together. However, there are surprisingly many negative comments in domestic and international reviews, such as "Knappertsbusch's slovenly accompaniment," "the piano is pushed around by the accompaniment," "miscast," and so on. But is it really so? The two-track, 38-centimeter open-reel tape we obtained this time has a fresh sound quality with a noble tone, and listening to it again, it seems to be nothing but one of the truly magnificent "emperors". The total playing time is less than 40 minutes, but it is not impossible to pair it with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 (mono), for example, which is also performed here.
