Satoko Fujii Tokyo Trio with Satoko Fujii, Takashi Sugawa, Kazutetsu Takemura, and one of the best rhythm sections in contemporary open improvisation, an ensemble with the utmost concentration and precision to sharpen the moment, and the evolving second volume! In 2022, Satoko Fujii Tokyo Trio will have performed more than 100 works as a leader. This is the latest work by Satoko Fujii, who continues to run with energetic activities. This is her second album as Tokyo Trio. The bassist is Takashi Sugawa and the drummer is Kazutetsu Takemura. Playing with one of the best rhythm sections that interact at every moment from straight playing to improvisation, the performance shows the best improvisational drama in the traditional format of a piano trio. The band will be formed in August 2019. The trio's third performance together at the Shinjuku Pit Inn on September 15, 2020, will be released as "Moon on the Lake" in May 2021. Although the Corona disaster and their busy schedule prevented them from performing again, they toured Europe in the fall of 2022, earning rave reviews in the media around the region. A Japan tour will follow in the spring of 2023.This work, "Jet Black," was recorded on the last day of the event. Both Sugawa and Takemura are at the top level of improvisation. Their performance was described by Jazzwise magazine as "a trio ensemble linked by telepathy. The recording was made at Shibuya Park Avenue Classics. Recorded at Shibuya Koen-dori Classics. Two and a half years after their formation, the trio continues to evolve and sharpen their focus on the moment. Their momentum is unstoppable.
