After "Luz de Agua," a two-parter that is etched in the history of contemporary Argentine neo-folklore, and "Aguaciravas," released under the name of a trio with Carlos Aguirre and Gonzalo Diaz, Sebastián Macchi has released his new solo work, "Melodia Bardia," which is a collection of songs with the gentle voice of Sebastián, melodies, and natural lilacs. While maintaining Sebastian's gentle voice, melodies, and natural and lyrical piano, this ambitious work features a variety of guests and represents a major leap forward in terms of song ideas, harmonies, and arrangements. Another album to be cherished and listened to forever has arrived from the shores of Paraná. Notable as the central figure in the "Luz de Agua" (2005, 2015), one of the best Argentine neo-folklore albums of all time, which became a lifetime album for many, and the masterpiece of piano solo "Piano Solito - Only One Piano" (2016), "Piano Solito" with Carlos Aguirre/ Sebastián Macchi, who has released a number of memorable works under his own name, including the piano trio Aguaciravas (2019) with Carlos Aguirre/Gonzalo Díaz, has now completed his long-awaited new work under his solo name.The trio of Fernando Silva (contrabass) and Gonzalo Diaz (drums/percussion) is the foundation of the ensemble, which exudes a sense of song and delicate dynamism, while a variety of guests add color to each song. The musicians are Vitor Diaz (drums/percussion) and the trio is a solid trio. The musicians include Vitor Gonçalves (Brazilian pianist who released his first album on the prestigious U.S. label SUNNYSIDE), Mauro Reyes (member of Carlos Aguirre Quinteto), Nico Ibarburu (SSW who represents the Uruguayan music scene), and Anita Lopez. SSW), Anita Archetti (accordion/vocals), Hugo Maldonado (vocals & guitar), Leandro Drago (synthesizer/SE), etc. In addition, an ambitious attempt is made to introduce a chamber music ensemble with violin/viola/cello/flute/clarinet/trumpet/horn on two pieces.This album features artists not only from Argentina but also from Brazil and Uruguay, and while utilizing the musicality of each, breaks new ground in terms of song ideas and harmonies/arrangements, and is completed as music unique to Sebastián Macchi. It is reminiscent of Carlos Aguirre's masterpiece "Orizhanía," which he regards as his musical ally and mentor. 4-sided paper jacket (135x135)/Lyric leaflet enclosed/ 16-page booklet with bilingual translation and liner notes attached to the inside of the paper jacket.
