■Rudolf Buchbinder is the most beloved master pianist in Vienna, the home of classical music, and is known as "Rudi when it comes to pianists. He is highly acclaimed worldwide for his interpretation of German and Austrian piano music from Haydn to Brahms. He has made frequent visits to Japan, and it is still fresh in our memory that he received rave reviews in various newspapers and magazines for his mature pianism in both recitals and concertos during a performance in Japan in June of this year. This album was recorded live at the Vienna Art Week in June 2012, with the Vienna Konzentus Musiks, an original instrument orchestra conducted by Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Buchbinder also played the fortepiano by Walter, instead of the modern piano, and this is the first recording of Buchbinder on fortepiano. This is the first recording of Buchbinder on fortepiano. This is the third recording of both pieces. Arnoncourt, who is known as a great Mozart master, was persuaded to record Mozart's first piano concerto with his hand-picked Concentus Musicus by saying, "Rudy, you are the only one who can play Mozart on fortepiano. This is the first recording of Mozart's piano concerto by Arnoncourt in 30 years, since his masterpiece with Goulda in 1983, and the birth of a fresh masterpiece by Mozart, which the two masters have dedicated themselves to.
