Carole King & Jerry Goffin, a famous collaboration that has produced many masterpieces Carole King and Jerry Goffin met in 1958 when they were students at Queens College. Over the next decade, they fell in love, married, had two children, divorced, and took up residence at 1650 Broadway in New York City, across from the Brill Building.The couple, along with Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil and Burt Bacharach & Hal David, formed the most important songwriting partnership of the early 1960s. Goffin and King composed a string of masterful hits for a variety of artists in the 1960s.Their impeccably composed songs cover an impressive range of styles: pop, soul, rhythm & blues, rock & roll... and their songbook still sounds fresh more than 50 years later. The album compiles some of the best vocal sides Carole King herself recorded in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including many of the hits she co-wrote with Jerry Goffin. 180 gram Virgin Records, limited edition, 20 tracks.
