Yannick Nézet-Séguin is one of the hottest young conductors in the world today, having been appointed Music Director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008, Principal Guest Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2008, and Music Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2012, succeeding Dutoit. His new release on the ATAMA label will feature Flaron Schmidt's masterpiece "The Tragedy of Salome" with the Metropolitan Orchestra, of which he has been artistic director since 2000, and Franck's symphonies, which he often performs in concert. The first part of "The Tragedy of Salome" begins with a profound and undulating "Introduction," followed by a sharp and powerful performance of "Dance of the Pearls.The second part, "Temptation on the Sea," is a stirring and fantastic music, bewitching and enchanting, and the "Dance of Lightning" and "Dance of Terror" are powerful and passionate performances performed with great intensity under a mad and sensual expression. Frank's only symphony in D minor. Despite its gloomy and profound sound, Nézet-Séguin uses his excellent compositional skills to create a richly nuanced performance. King International
