Oslo Kammerakademie! 10th Anniversary Edition! The Oslo Kammerakademie was formed in 2009 for the enjoyment of chamber music by players from the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and other ensembles. Ten years have passed since its establishment. Their music has been a fixture on the Oslo music scene and has been familiarized on four albums recorded for LAWO Classics, including Beethoven's Woodwind Octet (LWC1036) and Mozart's Woodwind Octet (LWC1141). This album is a milestone year release. It features three pieces written for ensemble with oboe, clarinet, horn, bassoon, and piano. The first is an inventive and entertaining work written by Mozart in 1784, the second, in E-flat major, is said to have been inspired by a work by Beethoven, and the third, in contrast to the two classically styled pieces, has a chilly atmosphere that foreshadows romanticism. The other is Danzi's work in D minor, which has a chilly atmosphere that foreshadows romanticism, in contrast to the two classically inspired pieces.The members of this album are Darvit Friedemann Strunk, principal oboe of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, who serves as leader; Pierre Zornew, principal clarinetist; Alessandro Caprotti, bassoonist of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra; and Norway's natural horn virtuoso Steinar Grummo Nilsen, who plays in the Norwegian Wind Ensemble. Christian Ihle Hadran is the guest pianist. He is one of the leaders of the new Norwegian generation with a diverse repertoire from the classical period to the present day. His excellent recording of Poulenc's Piano Concerto (LWC 1173) was released by LAWO Classics to much acclaim.
