Vincent Sicot-Vantalon (key/g), formerly of 000 (TRIPLEZERO), a French instrumental avant-garde rock band formed in 2009 by former SHUBNIGGURATH/000 (TRIPLEZERO) member Franck-William Fromy (g) and others, has released their 2026 album—their first in a full seven years since their previous release—via Soleil Mutant in France! Recorded between 2025 and 2026 under a new lineup—following the departure of founding member Franck-William Fromy and the addition of new guitarist Jérôme Lamarche (g)—this album marks the band’s return. While Vincent Sicot-Vantalon continues to handle the composition as he has in the past, the departure of Fromy—who had long served as the face of the band—has brought about significant changes to the sound. The oppressive, heavy chamber music style reminiscent of the SHUBNIGGURATH lineage heard on previous works has receded, while the band now presents its most agile avant-rock to date, centered on solid guitar work that weaves together intricate phrases and electric piano-driven keyboard playing, combining the sharpness of math rock with the lightness of crossover styles. Rather than Zeuhl, this album showcases a new side of the band, with a strong emphasis on the aggressive energy reminiscent of 90s–00s King Crimson!
