The dainty cellist has emerged on the British musical stage. Laura van der Heijden's debut album!After winning the BBC Young Musicians Competition in 2012, she was awarded the Landgraaf von Hessen Prize in September 2014. In 2015, she was selected as the first ever Young Artist in Residence for the London Mozart Players. Born in 1997 in England to a Dutch father and a Swiss mother, van der Heijden made her debut at the age of nine, studying with Leonid Golokhov. In recent years, he has been performing on stage at the Zurich Tonehalle in a duo with Fazil Sai and at the opening concert of the BBC Proms Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrew Davis. She is a cellist in the spotlight.Van der Heijden has chosen as the theme for his debut title the composers and their works that survived the infamous Zidanev critical period of 1948.
