This 5-CD anthology box set compiles the career and work of Mark Wertz, one of the greatest melody-makers and producers of the British pop-psychedelic era, who is also famous for producing the British pop-psychedelic treasure, the magical soft rock picture scroll "TEENAGE OPERA", and the psychedelic pop band TOMORROW. DISC.1-3 feature a collection of Wertz's work with Sheila & Jenny, Peanuts, Soul Brothers, Tomorrow, Sweetshop, Miki Antony, Aquarian Age, Zion de Gallier and many others, as well as his own projects, The Matchmakers and The Matchmakers. DISC.4 features Mark's career from '63 to the '70s, including his projects Matchmakers, Phil Witt and Pegasus, Teenage Opera, and later solo work, as well as his best-known and most popular songs and rare recordings. DISC.4 contains all of his two albums, "Come Back And Shake Me" from 1968 and "Fantastic Teenage Fair" from 1970.DISC.5 includes a mid-production recording from the acetate, Mark's first recording "Spanish Scramble," which was recorded in '63 with his band Marks Rogers and the Marksmen but never officially released, a home demo, and the first CD release mix, interviews, and two intimate piano performances of "Grocer Jack" and "He's Our Dear Old Weatherman," performed in 2017 in front of Mark's wife Amanda alone. This is a treasure box, both as an introduction to the brilliant man's music and as an unavoidable treat for British pop lovers.
