Formed in 1976, Foreigner garnered attention as a supergroup comprising members from such illustrious bands as King Crimson, Spooky Tooth, Black Sheep, and If. Their debut album, *Foreigner*, released in 1977, sold over 5 million copies, quickly establishing them as a top-tier band.
After the tour for their third album, *Head Games*, the band faced a crisis when key members left, but *4*, produced by the remaining members, spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. charts and sold over 6 million copies in the U.S. alone, ushering in a new golden age for the band.
In 1984, their fifth album, *Agent Provocateur*, released after a three-year hiatus, reached No. 4 on the U.S. album charts, and the single “I Wanna Know” became the band’s first No. 1 hit on the U.S. singles chart. In response, the band embarked on their first world tour in years, the “Agent Provocateur Tour,” comprising 121 shows, in 1985. During this tour, their concert in Paris on June 6 of that year was recorded and broadcast for a radio program. This album is a live recording based on the audio used during that broadcast and includes the encore.
Having overcome the crisis of key members leaving the band and riding the wave of two massive hit albums, the band delivered a high-energy live performance. Since no other live albums from this period exist, this is a truly valuable archive!
