Fujimaru Yoshino has enjoyed a multifaceted career as a guitarist, vocalist, composer, arranger, and music producer. After playing in the backing bands for Joe Yamanaka and Hideki Saijo, he went on to lead the legendary bands “SHOGUN” and “AB’S,” helping to shape the Japanese music scene. From his memorable guitar playing on such well-known classics as “Momen no Handkerchief,” “Amagi Koé,” “Yume Shibai,” and “Ichigo Hakusho o Mō Ichido,” to his contributions to over 10,000 recorded tracks, his influence is vast. This album is his first solo release, originally released in 1982. Now recognized as one of the most important works in the City Pop genre—which has garnered a passionate following worldwide—this album enjoys immense popularity overseas as well. In addition to Japan’s leading virtuoso musicians—including Naoki Watanabe, Atsuo Okamoto, Yasuharu Nakanishi, Nobu Saito, and Makoto Matsushita—the album features Haruko Kuwana and EPO on backing vocals. Furthermore, the members who recorded this album together went on to form the supergroup “AB’S” the following year—making this a truly historic masterpiece that is indispensable to any discussion of the history of Japanese AOR and City Pop!
