[Felix and Fanny, two "mute songs" performed by Pasichenko on an original 1836 Graf. Olga Pasichenko has received worldwide acclaim for her Mozart concerto recordings with Il Gardellino. Her first solo recording in many years is a collection of two Mendelssohn works. The "Silent Songs" is popular as a collection of lovely pieces left by Felix Mendelssohn, but some say that its originator was his sister Fanny, who also left many "silent songs" (songs for piano). The CD is filled with 30 songs, mainly excerpts from the many mute songs written by these two artists. Pashchenko's instrument of choice here is an original Konrad Graf instrument manufactured during the duo's lifetime. The beautiful voice of Konrad Graf's original instrument, which was manufactured during their lifetime, is perfectly suited to expressing these poetic works, and Pashchenko sings them with her own high sensitivity and freshness.
