This is the second collection of Buxtehude's complete organ works by Friedhelm Flamme, best known for his "Organ Works of North German Baroque Composers. He was the organist at Our Lady of Lübeck Church in Lübeck for about 40 years, and is known for his organ performances during morning and Sunday services, as well as for expanding the "Evening Music" concerts started by his predecessor, Tunder, to the delight of many audiences. The church is also known for its "Evening Music" concerts, which were started by his predecessor, Tunder. Buxtehude's organ music, both chorale arrangements and free-form pieces, has survived in some 40 pieces, and SACD 1 of this second collection presents a number of chorales combined with preludes, while SACD 2 focuses on several different versions of the same chorale. Also worth listening to is the high-quality recording, which fully captures the beautiful bass sound of Glauhof's Trotman-Orgel organ. Naxos Japan
