Description:

Born in Regensburg, Brandl began his musical education at the age of six. He developed his talent as a violinist, and before he was 20 years old, he had a successful concert tour in Germany. He then joined the court orchestra in Karlsruhe, eventually attaining the rank of Kapellmeister, a position he held until his death. He was also highly regarded as a composer, and at the time he was even more popular than Beethoven and was highly regarded as "one of the most important composers of the period. The "Concerto Symphony" on this album seems to have been composed for a tour, and is considered to be a "calling card" work to show off his own virtuosity.
