Began playing percussion at age 15. Graduated from Musashino Academy of Music. Completed the Conservatory Diploma Program at Tokyo Music & Media Arts Shobi (Shobi Music College). Studied abroad at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Karlsruhe in Germany. Returned to Japan after earning the highest honors by unanimous decision in the university’s master’s program. Won first prize at the “Kulturfonds Baden Wettbewerb,” an international music competition organized by the Baden Cultural Foundation, in 2011. Won second prize in the percussion division of the 31st Japan Wind and Percussion Instrument Competition. Studied under Yoshihiro Ando, Isao Nakamura, Takako Yamaguchi, Sumire Yoshihara, Jochen Brenner, and Thomas Hoefs. Supported artist for the Public Hall Music Revitalization Project by the Regional Creation Foundation. Performed in “The Soldier’s Tale” at the Saito Kinen Festival (Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival). Has appeared as a soloist with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and performed at music festivals such as the ARD Radio Drama Festival and the Baden Music Festival. (Distributor Information)
