Terry Riley's "In C", which rewrote the world's musical map. 60 years after its shocking premiere, a live dedication performance was held at Kiyomizu-dera Temple on a full moon night to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the band's birth! Terry Riley, one of the great masters of the music world, has always been creating new and original music in the past, present, and future. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the birth of "In C" (1964), which Riley himself calls "his iconic song" and which continues to shine as a milestone in minimal music. This project is a celebration realized based on Riley's strong wish to "celebrate the 60th birthday" of the song. On the day of the event, "In C" was performed by about 50 musicians. Although "In C" has been performed in various forms around the world, Riley had actually decided to "retire from performing this piece" after a wonderful concert at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2009. A dedication performance was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the birth of "In C," which has been described as a symbol of freedom and harmony due to its unique musical style. The performance ended with a full moon over Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The audience expressed their gratitude to the gods, nature, and the universe for the 60 years that "In C" has been loved all over the world. It was a historic celebration.
