Description:
Raf: Piano Works, Vol. 2 Joachim Raff, a little-known Swiss composer. While interest in his works has been growing recently, this series will undoubtedly contribute significantly to that trend. This second volume features works composed around 1871, brimming with the rich sound that marks the pinnacle of his career. From the “Fantastic Sonata,” which has a Schumannian flavor rather than a Lisztian one, to the “Variations,” which take a theme with a subtle sense of fluctuation and transform it to the utmost, and the “Four Miniatures,” with their beautiful poetic and lyrical sparkle—listeners are sure to experience the profound depth of Raff’s music.
