Description:
The much-talked-about shōjo manga *Yamaguchi-kun Isn’t a Bad Guy* by Yū Saiki (serialized in Kodansha’s *Bessatsu Friend*) is finally getting its long-awaited live-action adaptation! This coming-of-age love story follows Saki, an ordinary high school girl dreaming of romance, and Yamaguchi-kun, a transfer student with a tough-guy image and a Kansai accent. Kyōhei Takahashi of Naniwa Danshi plays Yamaguchi-kun, the protagonist who looks tough but is actually pure-hearted and kind. Hikaru Takahashi plays the heroine, Saki, an ordinary high school girl dreaming of love. Hiroshi Iwase plays Ishizaki, who stirs up trouble in Saki and Yamaguchi’s relationship and becomes the heroine’s romantic rival (?). The music is composed by Koji Endo, known for his work on a wide range of projects from violent thrillers to romantic comedies. This work features a rich variety of sounds, ranging from hard rock to acoustic and nostalgic tunes, as well as danceable beats, adding color to the romantic entanglements of the unique characters and their intertwining feelings.
