Highly acclaimed as "extremely talented," trumpeter Gabor Boldocki's new works by oriental modern and contemporary composers from Poland, Georgia, Turkey, and Armenia, respectively. Penderecki's work was written for performer Gabor Boldocki in 2015. A work by renowned pianist Fazil Say was also written for him in 2010. Khachaturian's piece was originally a piano piece, but Hungarian composer Erdöy arranged it in the style of a trumpet concerto. And the Arutyunian was composed as a virtuoso showpiece for Dokszel, and is an indispensable concerto repertoire for the modern trumpet player. Boldoczki's performance is not only technically but expressively masterful, with each piece based on a national melody and full of noble charm. Gabor Boldoczki was born in Szeged, Hungary in 1976.Hailed as "the heir to Maurice André," she made her Salzburg Festival debut in 2004 to rave reviews including "soft articulation, extreme talent, confident embouchure, brilliant virtuosity... a soloist of the highest quality who can handle any kind of music. At the age of 14, she won the first prize at the International Competition in Zalaegerszeg (Hungary). At the age of 21, she won the highest prize at the Munich International Competition and the Grand Prix at the 3rd Maurice André Competition. In October 2003, he won the Echo Classical Award for Best New Artist, and in 2008 he was named Best Wind Instrumentalist by the Deutsche Fonoakademie.His virtuosity is in perfect contrast to László Fényer's dancing tone and light string work.
