Description:
This is the 73rd collection of the De Haske Festival Series, which has been released to great acclaim, featuring new works from all genres, from original brass band works to pop music and film music. The title tune is "Planetarium" by Philip Spark, commissioned by CMV Advend Franekel, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2022. Inspired by the world's oldest planetarium, the Royal Aise Aisinga Planetarium, the piece was written on the theme of the planets, including the sun, and is full of a sense of grandeur. Columbus" by Thierry Druyel is performed by the Wind Orchestra of Kobe College School of Music, which has been remarkably active in recent years. The school gave the world premiere of the brass band version, which was also approved by the composer, and is the only Japanese band selected for this album. Other new works by Bert Appelmont, Otto M. Schwarz, Franco Cesarini, and Thomas Doss are also included. This is an excellent album that is sure to be useful for a wide range of music selections, from concerts to small mini-concerts.
