10 Years of Vladimir Jurowski and the London Philharmonic Orchestra (including world premiere recordings)! Vladimir Jurowski succeeded Kurt Masur as Chief Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra in 2007. The seven albums feature a wide variety of composers, with a program of works from the 19th century, which is Jurovsky's forte, as well as a rare Russian program that includes Dalmouyszky's "Baba Yaga," a rare Russian work, and a number of other Russian works, including Dalmouyszky's "Bábá Yaga. The program includes not only his specialty, 19th century works, but also Russian works such as Dargomyszky's "Barba Yaga," Mussorgsky's "One Night on Bald Mountain" in two different versions, the original and Rimsky-Korsakov's, and a series of contemporary works including Silvestrov. The orchestra also boldly tackles previously unexplored repertoire, with excellent results.
