The composer, Aleksandr Mosolov (1900-1973), was the head of the chamber music department of the Society for Contemporary Music and then worked as a music orchestrator for a broadcasting station, but he was expelled from the Russian music world for various reasons and eventually arrested for "anti-Soviet propaganda" and sent to forced labor. He was forced to live a harsh life. His honor was not restored until shortly after his death. It is also said that some of his works were forced to be destroyed, and not many of them have survived.Mosolov's works are performed by the brilliant pianist Schleiermacher.
