Savall's new disc of beautiful music for medieval pilgrims, music from a medieval manuscript that Savall revived from a manuscript that had lain in a monastery outside of Barcelona. It is a live performance of music for medieval pilgrims. The title The Llibre Vermell de Montserrat ("RedBook of Montserrat") is a medieval manuscript, a collection of mainly late medieval texts, including songs and dances, still kept in a monastery outside Barcelona. The "red" comes from the actual color of the cover. The content was written in Catalan and Latin, and was intended for pilgrims to sing and dance. This live recording transports the listener into the beautiful world of medieval music. A video of the concert is included (PAL). King International
