Description:

A new recording by the Horszowski Trio, the up-and-coming piano trio named after the great 20th century Polish pianist Mieczyslaw Horszowski, is now available on Avie. Rieko Aizawa is a pianist who made her Carnegie Hall debut in her mid-teens and was Holshovsky's last student at the Curtis Institute of Music. The trio, along with two-time Grammy-nominated violinist Jesse Mills and founding member of the Dadelas String Quartet Rahman Ramakrishnan, was formed with the endorsement and support of Mrs. Horzhowski and made its debut in 2011 at Rockefeller University in New York. Still based in New York, the quartet performs throughout North America, Asia, and India, and also toured Japan in November 2018 at Hakju Hall, The Phoenix Hall, etc. Their debut recording for Avie is Schumann's Piano Trio, including No. 1, which they performed during their 2018 tour of Japan. The complete works for piano trio by Schumann, including "No. 1," which was also performed during the 2018 tour of Japan.
