The famous recording of Rossini's "Little Solemn Mass," which marked the first step of the MDG label, is now available on CD for the first time. The first recording, Rossini's "Little Solemn Mass" conducted by Hermann Kreutz, was recorded live at a monastery in Marienfeld in 1976. MDG's recording philosophy is that the music comes first, and that the recording should not rely on excessive recording techniques, but should capture the sound of the venue to the fullest extent possible, using the minimum microphone settings necessary. The recording is made with the minimum microphone settings necessary to capture the sound of the venue to the maximum extent possible. Immediately after the release of Rossini's "Little Solemn Mass" on LP, it received a great response, with many people saying, "This is my favorite record!
