Also includes "Let Me Cry" and "Ombra My Who"! !"BIS label's second release from countertenor Niccolò Balducci is a collection of opera arias by Handel, Vivaldi, and others on SACD hybrid disc. This is the second album by Niccolò Balducci (1999-), who was featured as soloist on "Castrapolis" (BIS SA-2585), a collection of Neapolitan cantatas and arias. The album features arias from the opera "Alta Serse" by Riccardo Broschi, brother of castrato singer Farinelli; two arias by Timante from "Demofonte, King of Thrace," a London opera by Egidio Romualdo Deni; a familiar aria from Handel's opera "Serse," entitled "Ombra mai fu," which was performed in London by the composer; and a new aria from "Circe," by the composer himself. The program includes a well-known aria from Handel's opera "Serse", the aria "In my bosom" from the lost opera "Tieteberga" written by Vivaldi, and an overture and sinfonia. She sings with "joyful spontaneity" ("Opera Wire"). Conducted by Dan Laughlin, who organized the previous production.
