Master pianist Buchbinder plays solo. Mehta, conductor, and Buchbinder, pianist, have worked on the Brahms piano concertos in different ways in the past, but now that they have had enough time to mature, they have released a new album, Brahms Piano Concerto Live in Tel Aviv in October 2009. This is a remarkable live performance held in Tel Aviv in October 2009. In 1976, when he was in his late 30s, Zubin Mehta made a session recording of Brahms' First Symphony with the Vienna Philharmonic, and from 1979 to 1982, he recorded the complete symphonies with the New York Philharmonic, of which he was then music director, In October 1992, Zubin Mehta made a session recording of the complete symphonies with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.In 1996, when the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra celebrated its 60th anniversary, he recorded the Second Symphony live at a gala concert. As indicated by the fact that he has completed two complete symphony cycles, Mehta seems to be very good at Brahms and has made several recordings of the piano concerto as well as the violin concerto. In 1967, he recorded the Piano Concerto No. 2 with the London Symphony Orchestra with Ashkenazy playing solo, and in 1979 with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra with Barenboim playing solo.
