Telemann composed two sets of the titled "Seven times seven and one minuet," for a total of 100 minuets. The details of this given title are not certain, but it is said that he probably had in mind the biblical holy number "7. Each piece is about 16 to 40 bars long, with a playing time of one to two minutes. The second collection has many even shorter pieces than that. The performance is by Andrea Cohen, who has made many recordings for the Brilliant label. Her baroque and early classical keyboard repertoire is popular and highly acclaimed. Of this recording, she says, "I found in each minuet an unparalleled sense of originality." and the depth of Telemann's music.
