Long overlooked on the fringes of the French New Wave, her work was rediscovered in 2019 during a retrospective screening in New York, where its contemporary relevance was reaffirmed. In Japan, a retrospective was held in 2025, and many film fans rejoiced at their first encounter with Kaplan’s films.
