jizue: An instrumental band from Kyoto that reaches the world. An anniversary album marking their 20th anniversary! jizue (pronounced “Jizu”), an instrumental band from Kyoto, has gained popularity for their overwhelming live performances. This three-piece band has been thrilling audiences at numerous festivals and events both in Japan and abroad. Formed in 2006, they are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year with the release of their 11th album, the anniversary album orbis (pronounced: Orbis). The three members—Inoue (Gt), Yamada (Ba), and Katagi (Key)—each contributed songs to shape the album. It fully captures the essence of jizue, ranging from hardcore post-rock to mellow instrumentals and lyrical Latin-flavored tracks. Guest musicians include rapper Shing02 and singer-songwriter Reitaro Kimyo. Drummers Genki Hashimoto and Tsukasa Ino of foxcaptureplan also contribute. The album also features a re-recorded version of “sister,” the most popular track selected from fan requests for past songs.
