Despite his abilities and achievements, there have been almost no recordings of Minoru Nojima. This time, the rare recordings from The Symphony Hall in June 1999 and Osaka Izumi Hall in September 1997 are brought back to the light of day. The lineup is full of Ravel and Beethoven, which are his forte, as well as Bach, the ultimate in neatness, and Schumann, who burns like a madman. Nojima's sharp, fast playing was clean, his tone was sharp and clear but not cold, and his beauty was full of warmth and nourishment. In the Prokofiev and Liszt pieces, Nojima's breathtakingly brilliant technique left one in awe.
