Description:
Under the supervision of the label's founder, who is also a musicologist, the virtuoso players recreate a 17th-century German Christmas! Jérôme Lejeune, a recording engineer and musicologist who has been producing albums with front-line players to the delight of classical music connoisseurs, has created a unique Christmas album through his knowledge and solid contacts in the field of classical music. The album is a unique Christmas album. The album features a group of talented old-time instrumentalists, including violinists Stephanie Faye and Florance Margoire, keyboardist Brice Saie and wind instrumentalist Jeremy Papaserzioou, whose instrumental studies and playing ability are unparalleled, as well as five famous singers, including Polin Bundgen and Zachary Wilder, both of whom are accomplished in medieval music. This disc, in which Lejeune himself played a part of the krummhorn, is an excellent project that provides a new overview of the skills of important composers active in the German-speaking world on the eve of Bach through a program that traces the worship customs of the Christmas season, with a small selection of worship music written in various parts of the 17th century German-speaking world. The variety of double reed instruments reflecting Papaserzio's latest research (Charmai, Kvint bassoon, bass bombarde ......), combined with the high performance ability of each player, makes every track a deep realization of the joy of experiencing ancient music. The instrumental tracks are unique to this period. Some of the instrumental tracks include motets and organ music unique to this period, arranged for ensemble playing that showcases the recorders and strings, adding a rich accent to the natural development of the story.
